Rock the Rovers…..The Biggest Annual One Day Musical Event In Kirkcaldy....Raising Funds For Deserving Causes Since 2005…..
How It All Began

Rock the Rovers is an annual music event in Kirkcaldy organised by Raith Rovers supporters, which has been running since 2005. The one-day event sees 20 bands playing across 2 stages, under 1 roof across 12 hours.

The idea came from Marsha Tarvett, a local singer and staunch Raith Rovers fan, who pitched the idea to the Reclaim the Rovers fundraising committee. Using her contacts, along with the management at (the now closed) Harlem bar, the group managed to get 20 bands from Fife and the surrounding area interested in taking part - most of which had a Raith Rovers or Kirkcaldy connection and donated their performance fee to the cause!

The first gig was held in Harlem and Candlerooms on Kirkcaldy's promenade in August 2005, and was a huge success with almost 800 tickets sold raising over £10k towards the fundraising target of £100,000 (which gave the Rovers' supporters a stake in the club and a place on the board)

Such was the success of the event, and popularity with the Kirkcaldy public and bands, the event returned in 2006 under the leadership of Gavin Quinn "Quinny", a diehard Raith fan responsible for many fundraising events over the years, due to Marsha moving to England. With the disbandment of the Reclaim the Rovers fundraising group, supporters group Fife's Finest stepped in to support Quinny on the day.

With the Rovers aiming to establish good links with the local community, it was agreed to share the money raised between local charities and Raith Rovers. Each year, 5 charities receive £500 each, with Raith Rovers FC receiving the rest. You can see a list of our charities here.

Since the first gig the event has gone from strength to strength, both in terms of popularity and the quality of the bands; the event is recognised as the number one music event of the year in Fife, with bands from all over the country - and even further - all keen to book their slot and take part in this unique event bringing together music, football and charity under one roof, throughout one day.
