The success of Rock the Rovers 7 was finally realised on Saturday 24th September when the good causes nominated to receive a donation from the funds raised were presented with cheques prior to the match against Ross County. This year’s event took place on Sunday 28th August with 20 bands performing on two stages at Kitty’s and Styx in what is the biggest annual musical event in Kirkcaldy. Over £5,000 was raised and cheques for £500 each were presented to representatives of Kidney Kids Scotland, C.H.A.S, Meningitis Research Foundation, Valley Primary School Additional Support Class and Capability Scotland.

Rock the Rovers 6 took place on Sunday 29th August, with 20 bands playing on 2 stages at Kitty’s and Club DV8, and raised almost £8,000, with donations going to The Aberlour Trust, Leukaemia Research, The Scottish Society For Autism, The Scottish Breast Cancer Campaign and Coira. Representatives for the charities including former Rover Ronnie Coyle, who was there on behalf of Leukaemia Research, each received cheques for £500, and Raith Rovers Ladies FC received a cheque for £900. A cheque for the balance of £4,000 was presented to Rovers’ Chairman Dave Somerville who was once again delighted with the effort and commitment shown by the organisers, and he also thanked everyone who supported the event.
